I have an HOA and can’t have a tall fence, only 6 feet. Will that prevent the deer from getting in?

Deer can jump over anything that is below around 7.5 feet. A 6 foot fencing will still be effective for keeping most deer out. Deer typically don’t jump as high as they can unless they are spooked. We can’t speak for all HOA areas, but some will allow 8’ posts with 6’ fencing. If this is allowed, you can run two parallel strands of monofilament line to give you an additional 2 feet of coverage above the 6’ fence. Not only will this give you protection from high jumping deer, it will also make the fence more stable. If the HOA does not allow 8 foot posts, then a 6 foot fence will still do a great job at limiting deer getting into your space.
